We are actively seeking a Design engineer to work on a high profiled project for a global leading technology company.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Working in the Engineering Team, this position Identifies, captures and executes future 'modification and upgrade' opportunities and requests. Integrating 'modification and upgrade' projects, utilising effective project management and interdepartmental collaboration.
- With the overall support from the Engineering Team and working in accordance with engineering protocols this position supports the Business Unit's Engineering objectives.
- Provides a point of contact for requests, reviewing for acceptance (approve/reject/refer) and providing feedback to requestor in all cases.
- Taking ownership for completion to ensure full traceability is maintained and communicates all required actions, to each relevant area of the business, as defined within the companies process flow.
- Completes required drawing updates, through the use of available CAD/MS Office systems, and submits for design sign off to authorized engineers.
- Supports the introduction of new modification or upgrade projects into the business, working closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure all 'Life Cycle Management' stage gates are fulfilled and project deliverables are achieved.
- Ensure incorporation of 'lessons learned' from past and current designs into future product designs, providing feedback of investigations to 'Original Equipment' Engineering area for possible follow up and redesign where necessary.
- When workloads permit, provides design engineering support to other team members for activities such as new component drawings, test fixtures and any other 'special project requests' to ensure smooth project progression and compliance to customer specifications.
- Fulfills the role of effective "team player" supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge and undertaking other duties/tasks, appropriate to function, at the discretion of line management, to the benefit of the department and the company.
- Promotes awareness of the 'design & test' team process throughout the business, working to the principles defined within the current revision of the 'Design Control Manual', making recommendations for improvement to engineering management.
- The job requires a working knowledge of product design, particularly as it applies to products and their applications. It requires skills in application related problem-solving techniques and time management.
- The position requires the development of working knowledge of, and proficiency in, executing the full range of engineering activities and skills, as enumerated in the "Accountability Statements" section of this Job Description.
- The interactive skills required to understand and communicate effectively with internal and external customers are also needed in the position.
- An Engineering degree, at a minimum, or appropriate SPECIFIC work experience is required for this job along with a proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and engineering drawings.
