Design Engineer

SUMMARY:

- Position is for a System Design Engineer responsible for the integration of engines into Client machines.
- Engineer would research and investigate the engine installation design using Pro/E to evaluate space claims and engine configurations to meet requirements for the machine.
- The candidate would effectively communicate needed changes with both machine and engine system design engineers to ensure correct installation, assembly, and performance.
- A successful candidate will be able to look for opportunities to improve commonality and efficiency in design and effectively multi-task work on multiple machine programs.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review engine installation options to help select appropriate engine configuration for machine.
- Review and manipulate engine installations using ProE to identify space claim issues and recommend changes to solve problem.
- Collaborate with machine and engine systems to resolve engine installation issues.
- Develop and validate engine installation guidelines for machine plants.
- Audit engine installations with quality team to ensure correct engine installation.
- Actively identify and implement cost reduction opportunities for engine design and installation.

SKILLS:

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

- Ability to review and manipulate large engineering models in Pro/E, understand engineering drawings and specifications, effectively communicate with people both verbally and written, and solve problems effectively.
- Detailed team player capable of collaborating with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.
- Experience with Client software systems a plus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or Engineering Technology preferred.
- Two to five years engineering experience required.
- Hands on engine experience a plus.
