Design/Development Engineer - Cheshire - up to £37,000

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Design and Development Engineer to join this company at their location in Cheshire. Working with cutting edge technology you will be responsible for designing and developing products and processes for the Automotive industry.

This role will continue to evolve providing opportunity to develop and expand their expertise and you will be responsible for the design and development of the company's products to meet customer needs and establishing processes to manufacture the product efficiently and cost effectively.

The new position is ideal for a motivated candidate with a desire to enhance their engineering skills within the engineering department. You will be a Mechanical Design Engineer with excellent skills and technical problem solving capabilities as the function of the role will require design, testing, project management and process engineering with multi disciplinary engineering skills and a hands-on engineering approach.

Role duties

- Materials and product testing
-The design and development of new and existing products to meet both industry and customer specific specifications
-Managing projects from conception to completion
-Assisting in day to day trouble shooting and problem solving with regard to product performance
-Process design, development and optimisation for production performance, efficiency and cost
-Writing and updating process documentation, works instructions, process sheets etc
-Product design, development and optimisation, using 3D CAD
-Generating customer and manufacturing drawings using 3D CAD package
-Product and process research

Qualification and Experience

- Ideally Degree Educated (HNC/HND or above in a mechanical engineering discipline plus relevant experience considered)
-5 years minimum engineering experience
-Excellent skills in working with 3D Cad packages preferably Pro/Engineer
-Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with excellent excel capability
-Project management experience with ability to drive projects to completion
-Hands-on approach to their work.
-Attention to detail
- An interest in Automotive and/or Aerospace would desirable
