My Client, a leading energy provider is looking to recruit an insight lead on an initial 6 Month contract.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Lead and undertake the delivery of SDO Insight to support the SDO Hub
2. On an ongoing basis, specify all required data inputs and work with stakeholders to secure the required data, in order to generate deep and meaningful insight on the end to end smart metering deployment process. Potential data inputs could include: DOC reporting, business unit reporting and issue analysis, source system data mining (eg SAP BI, Hand Held Unit data). Work with the 'Solution Delivery and Implementation', DOC and business unit teams in order to close any identified data gaps
3. Lead the transformation of data gathered from DOC Operational Reporting, business unit data, other reporting data (eg SAP BI data) and trials into meaningful insight that will be used to develop candidate SDO Projects
4. Assess candidate SDO Project proposals and develop hypotheses using the following lenses in order to determine recommendations to the SDO Portfolio Manager and SDO Steering Group as to which SDO Projects should be mobilised:
a. Comparison against the Investment Case and the operational modelling that underpins it - Insight Lead to liaise closely with the Investment Case team
b. Comparison with Legacy/BAU operations - Insight Lead to liaise closely with the EFS SDO business unit lead and CS SDO business unit lead (EFS = Energy Field Services, CS = Customer Services)
c. Assessment of customer NPS and employee feedback
d. Potential improvements identified from Reporting - Insight Lead to liaise closely with the DOC Reporting and Optimisation Lead
e. Comparison to external benchmarking
f. Evidence of excess stock and/or under-utilisation
5. Provide recommendations to the SDO Portfolio Manager as to which candidate SDO Projects should be recommended to the SDO Steering Group for mobilisation
6. Support the SDO Portfolio Manager in the presentation of SDO Projects for mobilisation at the SDO Steering Group
7. Support Operational Excellence Consultants, Practitioners and Business Analysts in providing quality assurance throughout SDO Projects to ensure integrity of data and SDO Project insight outcomes
8. Lead the assessment of the outputs of SDO Projects in order to determine which SDO Projects should lead to enduring solution implementation
9. Ensure that each SDO Project shall have a clear, targeted ambition to improve the efficiency of the deployment processes and reduce the cost of the Smart Metering Programme

NATURE AND SCOPE
The Insight Lead will be required to work closely with DOC Reporting, business unit reporting, source data teams (eg SAP BI) to generate Insight to implement and assess SDO Projects within the project governance structure, and establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience of leading/managing a small team of analysts. Experience of transforming operational data into meaningful and actionable insights. Understanding of statistical analysis techniques. Knowledge of the energy industry. Knowledge of the end to end Smart Metering deployment processes would be beneficial. Content focussed - able to understand the detailed challenges of a particular area of Deployment and develop improvement hypotheses. Experience of working in an environment of continuous improvement, including knowledge and experience of continuous improvement techniques (eglean, six sigma) would be beneficial. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, able to identify and highlight the key messages from complex data to senior stakeholders - across both verbal and written mediums. Strong capability in MS Excel analysis/graphing and MS PowerPoint presentations required. Ability to prioritise and delegate as and when required. Able to establish strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
