Deployment Engineer

Our client is a reputed industry leader in their domain of expertise. With a series of projects underway, they are currently seeking 2 SOS DEPLOYMENT ENGINEERS AND 1 SITE DEPLOYMENT MANAGER to join their team based in Melbourne. This would be an initial 6 months contract with possibility of extension.

THE SITE DEPLOYMENT MANAGER AND A SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT ENGINEER Role is required to successfully deliver complex project infrastructure as an installed and integrated hardware solution for the Mission Systems through managing all subcontractors, scheduled works, activities and testing relevant to the systems installation and system and network integration segments.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLES:

- Work closely with Systems Engineering Manager/Project Manager to plan the project effectively, by ensuring that the project requirements, specification, design drawings, health and safety proposals are all read, understood and agreed, and that a project program is in place.
- Lead the team of sub-contractors for the installation of equipment racks, copper and fibre optic cabling, computer equipment and networks across various customer sites.
- The planning, oversight and base-lining of all key industrial partner and subcontractor deliverables relevant to the scope of the system deployment
- Lead Deployment System Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities per site including the qualification of sub-contractor test artefacts, evidences and reference with respect to both the commissioning and completion.
- Utilising approved templates, vet proposed agreements and provide guidance on Contract management process including Production, Engineering and Maintenance purchases.
- Monitor and manage partner, subcontractor and supplier performance, investigating and undertaking corrective action for poor performance, as required.
- Ensure project functions understand their contractual obligations & maximise subcontracts by leveraging knowledge of subcontractor trends.
- Challenge existing arrangements and maximise the commercial benefit from subcontractor relationships.
- Review/Update the Engineering Deployment Documents ie Site Installation Plans to as built documentation based on each site installation.
- Maintain written and verbal communication with immediate work group including the provision of detailed updates, recaps, audits and reports to all involved partners and provide quality feedback to improve existing processes for all initiatives.
- Act as a single point of contact during site installation, testing and deployment activities.
- Provide support during Pre-Transition and Transition from current Air Traffic Control system to the new Air Traffic Control system.
- Ensure conformance of the installation to the design and customer requirements.
- Ensure conformance of all the installation activities are under the Heath, Safety
- Requirements management experience
- Previous experience in the verification & validation of hardware systems
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Advanced reporting and stakeholder management skills
