Demand Planner/Forecasting Planner

Function Purpose:

*To support forecast demand for service breakdowns for the whole business
*Produce regular management information (MI) that supports the running of the business
*Functional experts in usage performance and trends
*Provides pricing support on new business, renewals and re-tenders
*Sourcing and analysing external macro economic data to input into business decision making
*As part of wider finance team, providing proactive support for all forecasting and budgeting processes and linking between finance areas to ensure that they are aligned
*Communicate usage trends and influence stakeholders to ensure appropriate understanding to inform decision making

Accountability's:

*Compile a rolling National monthly forecast of demand for service for 18 months
*Track actual experience and report variances to forecast in order to monitor accuracy and to feed into forecasting revisions and refinements
*Explain changes in forecast based on insight (insight (historic and forward looking) - trends in usage rates, filesize, mix, external factors etc.
*Split the National forecast into a monthly/daily regional forecast by the 10 SDM regions areas and then clusters
*Ownership and production of usage models and analysis therefrom
*Recommendations of usage rates to support all new business/renewal/retender pricing activity

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

*Excellent Understanding of pricing and analysis techniques.
*Strong modelling skills notably, Excel, SQL/SAS.
*Highly numerate with strong analytical & problem solving skills
*Understanding of financial issues
