WHAT PROJECT TEAM? WHAT DO THEY DO?

Deliver classroom based Trainer Development courses (specifically Defence Trainer the Trainer and Defence Training Supervisor) to Defence personnel

OVERALL PROJECT OBJECTIVES?

To train Defense personnel to be trainers in Phase 1, 2 and 3 military formal training environments.

WHERE DOES THIS ROLE SIT WITHIN THE OVERALL PROJECT?

These 3 x roles will run courses to allow DCTS to train additional personnel.

TALK ME THROUGH THE CORE RESPONSIBILITIES/OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE?

The post will primarily deliver classroom based Trainer Development courses (Defence Trainer the Trainer v2, Defence Training Supervisor, Defence Train the Trainer (Trainer) and Care of Trainees) to Defence personnel. In addition they may also be involved in the delivery of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) management and practitioner training courses (eg Scoping Exercise, Needs Analysis, Early Training Analysis, Detailed Design & Development, Audit, Internal Evaluation and Exernal Evaluation).

OTHER DUTIES MAY INVOLVE:

- Design and development of course materials and support resources.
- Participation in evaluation activities and the validation of DCTS outputs as required.
- Provision of specialist training advice as appropriate and guidance to the wider Defence community.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE - ESSENTIAL AND DESIRABLE?

Previous classroom delivery is essential. Previous experience of working with the military or of developing trainer development courses is desirable.

SPECIALIST ACCREDITATIONS?

At least a Level 3 qualification in Training and Education (or similar), ideally working towards or having already obtained a Level 4 qualification in Training and Education (or similar)

WHAT ARE THE 3 MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS THE CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE?

- Classroom delivery skills
- Ability to work with wide range of ranks, experience and abilities.
- Ability to work to stipulated standards and timings along with a high work rate (successful candidates must expect to be in the classroom on a daily basis from 0800 - 1700)
