DB2 DBA and Mainframe zOS Engineer

DB2 DBA and Mainframe zOS Engineer urgently required for interesting contract in Zurich, Switzerland.

The DB2 DBA and Mainframe zOS Engineer will be Responsible for the following:

* Evaluate, plan and integrate technical infrastructure solutions, on zOS with DB2 and Cobol
* Guarantee a secure infrastructure environment as well as production stability, performance and capacity management
* Analyse errors in systems and define corrective measures (you've got a good eye)

The DB2 DBA and Mainframe zOS Engineer will ideally have the following skills and expertise:

* Proven track record as DB2 Database Administrator on Mainframe zOS (NOT Linux UDB)
* Very good Cobol programming knowledge and experience
* Sound zOS knowledge to analyse and improve performance
* Experience with Control-M and BMC tools such as Mainview etc.
* Good knowledge of allied Mainframe technologies - CICS, JCL, VSAM, etc.
* Banking/Financial Services experience is a plus.
* German proficiency is highly preferred
* Prior experience (or currently) working in Switzerland
* Web Service integration (CICS)/experience using SOA techniques (eg REST/SOAP etc.)
* Good communication skills and good cooperation with other IT- and Business-Teams
* Strong aptitude for understanding and analysing large amounts of data from multiple sources
* Utilizes variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures
