DB2 DBA ANALYST - AIX, SQL, REDHAT

We require a DB2 DBA consultant with experience of installing, tuning, maintaining production and testing systems on mission critical environments. You will have expertise in reviewing and tuning systems; both database, configuration and SQL.

Working with development, support and architecture teams to design maintainable and performant solutions, provide BAU support and advice to all teams.

The successful applicants will work within a strong technical services team at Watford and potentially on client site and demonstrate best practice at all times. On-call services are also provided from the DBA team to the wider Salmon support teams.

This is a great opportunity to get hands on with some major eCommerce solutions and develop toolsets for their continued success.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Hands on DB2 DBA experience,
- IBM DB2 v9.5/v9.7 running on AIX, Redhat (RHEL), Solaris (SPARC).
- Designing, sizing, tuning, housekeeping, building and all aspects of data management, toolset
- Performance analysis
- Solid SQL knowledge (SQL*1999 standard).

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Exposure to full project life cycle in delivering complex enterprise class solutions
- Exposure to environments using - J2EE 1.4/1.5/1.6
- Exposure to IBM WebSphere Application Server v6.x/v7.x, Jboss, Oracle Application Server.
- Hands-on experience with Unix based systems (Solaris, AIX, Linux).
- Very Good communication skills are required, client facing skills, team worker.
