DB2 DBA

Leading Global Solutions provider has an immediate requirement for a DB2 DBA for a long term contract in Dublin.

The DB2 Administrator will provide database and operating system level troubleshooting support in a Linux, WINTEL and AIX operating environments. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work on high level DB2 projects and also day to day support.

REQUIREMENTS

4+ years of DB2 database administration experience.

DB2 9 and 10 version experience on Linux, AIX & Windows on Intel.

Implementing and managing DB2 high-availability technologies such as HACMP and HADR

Development and migration of DB2 through development, test and production environments

Production database performance analysis

Engage with technical infrastructure support teams and IT development teams in performance and problem resolution and application design and development

Develop & Provide documentation as appropriate

Be required to take part in an on-call rota and provide cover for some Out of Hours tasks.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Extensive knowledge of DB2

DB2 Utilities either IBM or CA Platinum

DB2 Administration Tool

Change management skills

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Knowledge and experience of Oracle or SQL Server would be an advantage

Understanding of ITIL

This role will require some degree of attendance to customer sites and flexibility would be required in this regard.
