DB2 Database Administrator (DBA)

For our customer we are looking for a DB2 Database Administrator (DBA)

Role description:
The Data Base Administrator implements and maintains Database(s) for a dedicated application or an application portfolio. The main tasks are data base design, technical construction, implementation, tuning, availability and performance.

We are now looking for an additional DB2 Database administrator resource to our customers DB2/DL1 team. As a DBA you will implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases, conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general, review database design and integration of systems and specify backup and recovery routines.

Work description:
- Propose changes concerning the database which make the system more efficient and/or reduce operation- or maintenance-costs
- Give support in the use of database product(s) and availability to application developers
- Monitor and manage existing databases for performance bottlenecks
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
- Optimize SQL statements for better performance and develop SQL-queries, stored procedures and/or triggers

Qualifications and skills required:
- Several years of experience of DB2 environment in Mainframe
- Excellent documentation skills
- Ability to cooperate in an international environment
- Ability to adapt new techniques and customer needs to practical solutions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Swedish
- Strong customer focus
