Datawarehouse Specialist - Immediate Start - June 2013 Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced Datawarehouse Specialists within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Examine long term business requirements, suggest alternative plans and strategies and report on their feasibility. These should be consideration of Datawarehouse architectural issues;
- Provide expert level experience with relational database design and development, prototype development, ETL development using SQL and proven experience in the dimensional method of Datawarehouse design;
- Be the single point of contact for two projects concurrently and will be responsible for the data warehousing solutions, from a business and information perspective;
- Drive and participate in analysis, design, modelling activities including running SQL scripts for early agile user testing;
- Undertaking specialist activities in both complex projects;
- Take a leading role in carrying out data profiling; and
- Develop mapping documents, logical models, presentation prototype[user and technical specifications, test strategy/plans/cases].

SKILLS:

- Expert level experience with relational database design and development, prototype development, ETL development using SQL and proven experience in the dimensional method of Datawarehouse design;
- Proven experience in data profiling; developing mapping documents, logical models, presentation prototypes, user and technical specifications, test strategy/plans/cases; and undertaking specialist activities in a complex Business Intelligence project; and
- Highly developed data analysis and data profiling skill set within a Teradata environment.
