Datawarehouse - Microstrategy Consultant

IS Datawarehouse Solution Designer & Developer (Microstrategy)

General: Solution Designer is responsible to translate the user requirements into a system solution design and the delivery of the system to the business: Committed to the targets to be achieved, Receives the user requirements from the IS Business Analyst, Reports to the IS Project Leader.

Very good knowledge on Datawarehouse technology used (MUST):

- MicroStrategy 9.2.1: standard& KPI-reporting
- DB2: UDB Version 9.7 or other relational databases

Following knowledge is an advantage:

- IBM - QMF for Workstation
- AB Initio - ETL
- Data Modeling (ER-Studio)
- TWS (Tivoli Work Scheduler)

Detail Requirements:

- Be able to make a functional design 
- Be able to make a technical design and validate whether it meets the functional design
- In relation with the IS Project Leader communicate on project issues, impact, reasons and define countermeasures to keep project targets
- Be able to conduct workshops with other IS members on the functional & technical design
- Have experience in preparation & execution of test scenario's
- Have experience to work in "Projects": a phased and planned approach with targets and strong communication on this
- Have good presentation skills
- Be able to organise and support and co-ordinate IS QA tests
- Can support the Cut Over to "Live" and the handover to the live support teams
- Can work under stress 
- Can work with limited coaching, independent attitude, takes initiative
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, as well writing as speaking 
- Good "English" language knowledge ' speaking and writing
- Experience with Microsoft office tools
- Willing to travel (Europe, 1 to 2 day trips, maximum once a month)
- Flexible in work hours (start and end times) depending on requirement
