Progressive are seeking an experienced consultant to work in an international, not-for-profit organization to advise and lead (with the internal project manager) on the construction of a web accessible Data Warehouse and Analytics service for their GHG accounting data based on a Microsoft platform. The consultant will help to plan the project, design the architecture and be involved in some of the implementation with knowledge transfer to the internal IT team.

Terms and Application

This will be a full time contract. The role will be based at the organization'sLondonoffices in Farringdon although there is some scope for remote working as operational requirements permit.

Desired Skills & Experience

Required Skills and Experience

* Data Warehousing development methodologies and project life cycles
* Data Warehouse design structures and concepts, dimensional modelling (including text rich data), cube design and ETL process design from operational source systems into the data warehouse
* Strong experience of using SQL 2008/ 2005,SSAS , SSIS, SSRS and SharePoint.
* Use of the Microsoft BI tool stack including web delivery through SharePoint and the use of Excel PivotTables or similar reporting tools to fulfil ad hoc data requests when required. You should have experience of managing performance issues of multi user ad hoc reporting and of providing a good user experience over variable internet connections
* Experience of data and user security management
* Experience with creating engaging data visualizations
* Strong presentation, communication and facilitation skills (oral and written)
* An ability to coach and mentor internal IT staff
* An ability to develop and implement solutions using Agile project management techniques

Desirable Experience

* Previous experience working in charities or NGOs
* Previous experience of working with greenhouse gas accounting data and other sustainability data (for example water and forest use)
* An understanding of XBRL concepts
