Datamodelling Consultant/Powerdesigner

As part of a new contract with an agency of the Devolved Government in Scotland, AFRC, we have been contracted to deliver a new suite of IT applications to support EU Common Agricultural Policy reform in 2015 to distribute some £650m in grants to the farming community in Scotland. We
are therefore looking to assemble a large development team, based on site in Edinburgh, working with the client's IT staff, in blended teams. RPID are the business area responsible for rural payments within AFRC. One data analyst role is to work with the Data Architect on Datamodelling,C onceptual Data models etc.

Tasks:

Data requirements elicitation and analysis
Datamodelling (conceptual, logical and physical levels)
Works closely with the Data and Information Architect for the development of data standards and the overall information design
Maintains the Data Dictionary
Manages business semantics
Contributes to data quality and integration job

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

SAP Powerdesigner - Advanced
SQL - Trained/Proficient
Datamodelling Techniques (we follow Steve Hoberman) - Advanced
Strong analytical and communication skills, especially for requirements elicitation
Ability to work independently
