Database Support Specialist/Application and Database Management - Dublin
A market leader that have offices in Dublin require a Database Support Specialist to support an large system upgrade programme. You will work within the Application and Database Management Support team, but will work full time on a Windows server upgrade project, this will largely involve commissioning new applications and upgrading applications where necessary. The candidate will also be expected to assist with application migrations and cut-overs throughout the period of the project.
Responsibilities
*Database administration and support to end users on IT applications and systems, using
*Oracle, Microsoft SQL and MySQL
*First point of contact for identifying, prioritising and resolving database issues
*Providing technical input to optimisation of database configuration and administration processes
*Analyse, plan and implement upgrade projects as agreed
*Apply specialist knowledge of IS applications and systems to contribute to policy, process and planning, and produce system/policy documentation as required
*Strong proficiency in Oracle, with strong Oracle 10g & 11g background
*Experience in install, upgrade and administration of SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008,
*2012 databases
*Strong knowledge of Oracle running on AIX and Windows.
*Working knowledge of operating within Windows 2003 we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
