Database Infrastructure Architect

Looking for a Database Infrastructure Architect to join Global IT Consultancy Company in Prague, Czech Republic on a 4-6 months contract to start in the middle of January!

You will be a Database Architect in an employee driven Company in Prague, Czech Republic, that put you at the centre of their value, whose main interests are trust and transparency. A big company that achieved extraordinary results in terms of Profit, Revenue and Market Capitalization.

What will be your responsibilities?
As an Architect, you will create a Reference Architecture for the Company's DBMS Infrastructure Environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB), you will describe workload types and their key characteristics and define application classes and their non-functional requirements. You will also describe solution patterns and recommendations for key aspects of the Company's DBMS infrastructure environments, including but not limited to: Application Class to Platform Mapping, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup/Restore, Data Integrity, Multitenancy, Virtualization, Performance and Scalability, Optimization, Data Compression, Monitoring, Security, Encryption and Separation of Environments. You will support the development and maintenance of the Novartis DBMS Infrastructure Roadmap and provide Consulting regarding the implementation of DB Security Baselines. You will also create architecture deliverables, eg DB selection guidelines, platform feature comparisons, architecture diagrams, templates, white papers and you will support the planning, execution and documentation of Technical POCs.

What do we need from you?
To be the right candidate for this job, you will have years of experience, a university degree and excellent up-to-date knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server environments, including Oracle 12c and SQL Server 2014. You will have practical experience with Oracle RMAN, RAC, DataGuard, Golden Gate, Multitenancy and practical experience with SQL Server 2014, SQL Server DB-Mirroring, Always-On Groups etc.
You will also have practical Experience with major DB Life Cycle Management and Upgrade Programs and excellent knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud Computing concepts and technologies. We need you to have excellent understanding of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backupself-starter. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What about the project?
The project will start in the middle of January and will last until 4 - 6 months.
You will be expected to be travelling to Basel at least at the beginning of the project on regular bases, with expenses covered on customer side.
The salary will be up to 807 CZK per day, depending on your experience.
