Database Engineer - TSQL / SQL Server - Leeds - 32-36K

2 experienced SQL Developers are required to join my clients large IT team on a permanent basis. This role will be in the legal sector and the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience of database development, with an excellent knowledge of SQL Server / Transact-SQL.

Specific Responsibilities

*Perform upgrades to applications as needed during and outside of normal business hours
*Perform adhoc reporting to support project needs and delivery, including query building and report formulation using such tools as SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and T-SQL
*Develop new applications and enhance existing application code to improve operations efficiencies
*Hands-on involvement in the completion of deliverables which can include both business and technical projects
*Ability to develop technical requirements and specifications
*Ability to develop and test use cases for all new development and enhancements
*Assist with documentation management of all project work performed

Required Skills:

*Proficiency in all MS Office products such as Excel, Word and Visio
*4+ years in MS-SQL
*Ability to understand technical information and communicate in business terms
*Ability to move projects forward within specific timeline and budget while working at a detailed level
*Strong skills in the area of interpersonal communication, analysis, critical thinking and attention to detail
*Strong organizational & analytical skills, including the ability to analyze, understand and summarize key issues
*Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, team-oriented, delivery-focused, and professional consulting environment
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Excellent work ethic and ability to prioritise tasks

Desirable Skills:

*2+ years in SSRS
*2+ years in C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET
*2+ years in SSIS.

Required Experience

*A Bachelors Degree is required, ideally in a computer science or similar field
*At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
*Demonstrated initiative to stay abreast of current trends and technical advancements
