DATABASE DEVELOPER/BRUSSELS/UNDISCLOSED CLIENT
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Database Developer to join our client's Brussels based team.
The job description is noted below:
- The service provider will perform technical analysis, design and construction tasks in the context of development and maintenance works on Back End services and Front End Web applications compliant with the W3C standards.
- These tasks will be executed on existing or new Web applications.
- They will require strong coordination with the IT team of officials in place.
- The person will show a commitment to method, adequate knowledge of the UML language and a thorough approach to development and testing.
- The person needs to have a solid and proven experience in developing database-driven web applications, preferably in the context of a service-oriented architecture.
- The candidate has a thorough experience of Web application development using an MVC-compliant framework.
- He/she has extensive knowledge of Coldfusion as a Web application platform with its Scripting language and of Oracle PL/SQL in the context of professional projects relying on Service Oriented Architecture.
- An excellent knowledge of XSLT 2.0 (XSL Transformations) and XPath 2.0 languages is required.
- He/she must be familiar with coding using a Javascript framework (preferably jQuery), and has a proven experience of working with an advanced widget library like Kendo UI.
- The person will have to contribute to the evolution of the technical architecture currently in use at the Legal Service, thanks to her/his knowledge of current technologies and her/his interest in the evolutions of the Web environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
Current development framework is based on the usage of XML transformations (XSLT) of XML documents. Applications are hosted on Coldfusion platforms at DIGIT's Data Centre. UML is used for analysis and design works. Web tools and techniques (XHTML, CSS, jQuery, Kendo UI) are the basis of the Front End user interface design. The XML standards include XSLT, XPath, and SOAP. For specific needs, Java Back End components may be written and/or used. Oracle RDBMS is used with PL*SQL. The development framework may change significantly depending on the evolution of technology and users' needs.
