Database Designer

The contract is with a Consultancy in Brussels to be on assignment at a large European site.

Tasks: 
The contractor will
-design the most appropriate database data model to meet business requirements
-determine the required physical storage parameters to create the database with the expected business performances
-document the implementation
-transfer knowledge to the service and support team
-apply structure knowledge to solve problems, break down issues, and implement solutions
-deploy the solution with a database administrator and test it with sample data
-cooperate with the functional analyst and the technical designer to understand the business requirements
-report to the project manager.

Required Skills and Experience:
-strong experience in Datamodelling
-experience in application database design
-thorough knowledge in relational databases and SQL queries
-Strong knowledge of Oracle database technology
-optimise implementations to improve the performances
-be a self starter able to work proactively and work independently but also as a team player in complex project organisations
-capable of multitasking and prioritising in a fast paced work environment.

Knowledge in project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum in particular) is an advantage.

Languages: Fluent English plus good knowledge of either French OR Dutch
