For a project at our banking client in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced
DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR/SYSTEM ENGINEER - DB2 (4983)
The primary interface is application developers seeking advice and support with the use of Db2. Other important interfaces include the Mainframe Performance Team and the Mainframe Operations Teams.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- STRONG UNDERSTANDING AND SEVERAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH DB2 FOR Z/OS - IDEALLY FROM BOTH A DATABASE ADMINISTRATION AS WELL AS SYSTEM ENGINEERING PERSPECTIVE
- ABLE TO APPLY A SYSTEMATIC PROBLEM-SOLVING APPROACH AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES FOR LARGER ACTIVITIES
- Very good communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, high energy and drive in achieving the desired results
- FLUENT IN ENGLISH, GERMAN WOULD BE AN ASSET
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consulting: Support applications in the optimal use of Db2 and its features
- Tuning: Identify programs with potential for optimizations (both proactive and reactive), evaluate options, elaborate them with the application owner, develop and agree on implementation plans
- Continuous improvements: Take on special projects and activities in order to continuously improve the environment
- Support and On-Call duty: Support in case of problems and fault situations that might occur; participate in the team's on-call duty rota
