DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Ana, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Designs, develops, implements, installs, and maintains enterprise level database systems in a multi server environment.
- Troubleshoot and correct database problems and to proactively maintain the health of database systems. Create backup/recover utilities according to defined standards.
- Codes and implements stored procedures and triggers.
- At the higher levels, interface with the appropriate groups to ensure that database systems meet business requirements.
- This Matrix applies to Client Server and Mainframe Database Administrators as well as Microsoft SQL DBAs. It does not apply to positions in a single server environment or those positions that work with desktop applications such as Excel or Access.
- Research new database methods and technologies to fully utilize platform features.
- May provide technical direction/mentoring for other DBAs.
- May perform project management duties for major database events, such as database upgrades and new product releases.
- Provides and recommends architecture and infrastructures, which may include security, database objects and backup/recovery.
- Install, upgrade and configure database management system software.
- Validate that all physical database designs satisfy business requirements, and meet standards to database objects, data integrity, security, performance and recoverability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety of database problems.
- Monitor capacity and performance, and proactively resolve a wide variety of problems.
- Investigates and resolves all performance issue impacting the database.
- Create backup/recovery utilities according to defined standards.
- Implements security, providing input for defining standards.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Some groups may require data modelling skills eight (8+) years of directly related experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Project management skills.
- Expert knowledge of multiple database management systems of depth of skill in one to install, upgrade, configure, design, develop, implement, secure, tune, monitor and maintain required database objects. Advanced skills in enterprise system architecture design.
- Microsoft SQL Professional desired if position as position is for a Microsoft SQL DBA.
