Data Warehousing Technical Lead - June 2013 Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced Data Warehousing Technical Leads within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

- JANUARY 2013 START
- CONTRACT UNTIL JUNE 2013 WITH EXTENSIONS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop processes and procedures in the EDW Operations section;
- Monitor and maintain enterprise scheduling for multiple processing streams and dependent processing;
- Make continuous improvement to the production systems, so that we can meet our client expectations;
- Participate in architectural and governance forums;
- Act as a guide to others for efficient coding practices and participate in group coaching sessions to drive improvements;
- Drive and participate in analysis, design and modelling activities including code reviews; and
- Provide advice to Management on system issues and possible solutions.

SKILLS:

- Demonstrated experience in supporting large Datawarehouse initiatives, specifically in regard to regular systems processing procedures and enterprise scheduling;
- Demonstrated experience in Teradata Datawarehouse systems and all related systems and management tools;
- Demonstrated experience with both relational and dimensional database support and maintenance;
- Experience in Teradata Data Warehousing systems and tools;
- Experience in IBM Mainframe systems and processing;
- Experience in using IBM Information Server DataStage;
- Experience in Database Administration (DBA) functions for monitoring and maintaining large data stores; and
- Data Architecture and/or Datamodelling experience.
