Data Warehouse Expert

The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the MRC Director of Operations, for the London, Oxford and Overseas Units and work closely with the Regional Head of Finance in the London office.

You will have an excellent understanding of  the warehouse module of MS Dynamics. The overall objective is to complete the implementation of research modules in Ugandan sites, to manage a repeat stock take (this ranges from absolutely everything needed) to ensure physical stock corroborates the system's reflection of stock. To craft and complete the training scripts, deliver refresher training surrounding ms dynamics warehouse modules.

The MRC has recently completed the implementation of MS Dynamics into the MRC units in Uganda and the Gambia. The stores/warehouse function in MSD performs a critical role in the whole P2P process in receipting and issuing of stock and goods received. The full functionality is not yet being used in either of the overseas units. Although initial training had been given to the stores staff at the Units, they are not yet fully conversant with the system and there are concerns the system stock is getting progressively out of alignment with actual stock. The MRC's internal expert who was managing this project has unfortunately suffered a health problem and is on long term sick leave. A consultant is required urgently for a period of 6 weeks to provide back fill for this role. A trip to the Ugandan unit of 2 weeks duration is anticipated during this assignment, the remainder of the work will be performed from the MRC Head Office in Holborn, London.

Main Activities & Deliverables
1. In Uganda - the MS Dynamics Warehouse/Stores/Goods receipting functionality is only partially implemented. The replacement stores staff need to be trained and appropriate training scripts completed.
2. Upload information from Stock take of all locations for uploading stock levels and owning Cost Centres into Dynamics in the correct locations and bins. Investigate Physical Vs System differences
3. Stores inventory and bin locations need to be set up at the field stations in Masaka and Kampala. Ensure proper functionality of the stores function at all stations with clear segregation of duties. ie testing the system for new stores set up on the system. Training staff locally.
4. Provide a health check of inventory and item set

Your Key responsibilities will be as follows:
Experienced in the development of data warehouse capability
Support the identification of an appropriate solution which allows delivery of existing data services
Understand current architecture, data structure, security requirements and business process
Consider hosting and security
Support solution design taking into account platform sizing, volumetrics, network connectivity, web services, web UI, ETL, data egress, data security, big data platform etc.

You must also possess an In depth knowledge of the day to day operation within MS Dynamics Nav 2013 of:-Principles and operational use of FIFO, Inventory Put-away Inventory Pick  Inventory Movement, Item Journal  Item Reclassification Journal, Warehouse Receipt, Returns process (to stores & to vendors), Put-away Worksheet, Warehouse Put-away, Pick Worksheet, Warehouse Pick, Inter site/Inter Warehouse Movement Worksheet, Warehouse Movement, Internal Warehouse. Pick, Internal Warehouse. Put-away, Bin Creation Worksheet, Bin Content Creation Worksheet, Warehouse Physical Inventory Journal, Entering stock take adjustments as well as a Sound experience of day to day working as a Warehouse Manager role in MS Dynamics Navision 13.
