DATA WAREHOUSE DEVELOPER - ORACLE EXADATA, ODI (ORACLE DATA INTEGRATOR), TABLEAU, CONFLUENCE - MAASTRICHT, NL

My major air traffic control client based in The Netherlands is seeking a Data Warehouse Developer to setup a data warehouse as part of the creation of a bespoke Business Intelligence layer on top of their internally developed high-performance spatial database. The Business Intelligence facilities will not only allow efficient creation of KPI monitoring and reporting workflows and dashboards, but will also allow users to perform data mining in a self-service manner.

On top of the data warehouse setup, the BI layer will also include the design of a data model, the creation of an ETL layer, the creation of a reporting, dashboarding and self-service analytics layer, documentation piercing all layers to provide to end users, the establishment of the respective governance structures and processes, and the migration of various Legacy BI solutions into the new BI scheme (including metadata and lineage recovery).

THE INFRASTRUCTURE STACK SELECTED TO SUPPORT THESE DEVELOPMENTS CONSISTS MAINLY OF AN ON-PREMISE ORACLE EXADATA, ODI (ORACLE DATA INTEGRATOR), TABLEAU AND CONFLUENCE.

ASSIGNMENT ACTIVITIES

- Source Analysis
- Reverse engineering and maintaining metadata for source systems and all layers of the DWH, enabling automation of loading platforms
- Modelling of the source in Data Vault 2.0 standard
- Automation of Data Vault 2.0 loading patterns using SQL, Groovy, ODI SDK and ODI KM
- Development of an ODI configuration to automate ingestion of the source data into a staging area
- Improvements of a framework for automatic generation of ODI transformations of the data from staging area into the Raw Data Vault and further to some areas of the Business Vault layer
- Development of transformations of the data to self-service presentation layer (including dimensional models, 3NF relational models and flat wide de-normalised reporting tables/views)
- Development of historical data purging rules
- Technical and user-facing documentation of the Datamodelling design and transformation design
- Development, execution, and reporting of integration and user acceptance tests, including example Tableau visualisations

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

REQUIRED:

- Successfully conducted activities similar to those above in environments similar to the BI Tooling, Datamodelling and Reporting environments mentioned above within the last 5 years
- Good experience with Oracle VLDB
- Good experience with ODI, and ODI automation using ODI SDK
- Good experience in manufacturing technical and user-facing documentation of Datamodelling and transformation design (candidates will need to be able to provide examples of this)
- Good experience with Data Vault 2.0, or evidence that it can be learned within 3 months

DESIRED:

- Experience in modelling and handling spatio-temporal data in a self-service BI context
- Experience in modelling air traffic, sector and airspace configuration, or similar
