Data Warehouse Developer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a DATA WAREHOUSE DEVELOPER to join our client in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Data Warehouse Developer will develop and implement new data marts as well as support existing marts. The candidate will assimilate, integrate, and summarize very large amounts of data by interfacing technical -specifically SQL- knowledge with business and system requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, test and automate ETL processes to populate new data marts, as well as implement enhancements to existing data marts.
- Work closely with Account Management, Business Consultants, Marketing Science and other teams to understand the business requirements and provide technical solutions for complex client specifications.
- Work closely with the BI Team to support the design of reports and dashboards that meet the client's needs.
- Communicate with immediate supervisor and other project team members on the status of the work in-progress, both verbal and written communications.
- Estimate time requirements and work diligently to ensure all development initiatives and production cycles run on schedule and notify appropriate personnel when variances from the schedule occur.
- Provide project, system and other technical documentation as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in MIS, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong skill level with Oracle 9i/10g/11g, PLSQL and stored procedures.
- Good understanding of Oracle DB architecture.
- One to two (1 - 2) years in Unix Shell Scripting
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in a professional environment working in a development role on data warehouse projects.
- Experience retrieving and manipulating very large tables is a plus.
- The candidate must be highly self-motivated, confident and professional with well developed analytical and problem solving skills and an aptitude to learn as well as a flexibility to adapt to change.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet project dates.
- Good planning and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to adopt best practices in his/her work and work well in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members in all phases of development both verbally and in writing.
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical/health care environment is a plus.
- Micro strategy and/or other BI experience will be a plus but is not essential.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and the commitment to work in a highly-motivated, team environment is a necessity.
- This position requires the proven ability to meet estimates and schedules in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment.
