Data Technician

Data Technician required for our central government client based in Bristol to start ASAP until March 14. Due to the nature of the post preference will be given to those that hold valid SC Clearance.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

The Data Tech will support the Base Inventory and Warehouse Service (BIWMS) Technical and Integration Manager. They will work with the Logistic Network Enabled Capability Delivery Partner (BDUK) and Data & Integration Services to ensure that all data aspects are covered and that all stakeholders are fully engaged with.

- Assist the Release Manager with the creation of the Data Strategy.
- Ensure all technical interfaces are understood liaising with stakeholders as required.
- Provide input into the generation of the Integration Test Evaluation and Acceptance Plan (ITEAP).
- Generation of Acceptance Plan and Test Scripts in support of the ITEAP.
- Manage the Data Sub Working Group, ensuring correct attendance and escalating issues as required.
- Management of the Project Issue Log resolving issues and escalating unresolved issues as required.
- Liaise with Data & Integration Services (D&IS) regarding all aspects of data mapping and provide assistance as required with data cleansing.
- Draft Work Packages as required for D&IS Team Leader 6.
- Update risk planning tool with identified project risks as required.
- Work with the Delivery Partner to establish understanding of all data attributes, their feeds and how they are used to support the current Business Process and how they can be mapped to the "To be" process.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Good communications skills, written and oral.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritise their own wok and work independently within a team.
- Ability to analyse Data and Business Processes within an IT environment.
- Experience in a Logistics and Logistics Information Systems.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.

Desirable:

Prince 2/APM Foundation, Management Of Risk, ITIL 3 Foundation
