World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist with expertise in Retail, Sales and Marketing to join this Advanced Analytics Data Science team Centre of Excellence.

The Data Scientist for Customer Centricity works closely with the directly customer facing businesses, ie Retail, Global Commercials and Trading. The common challenge is to create analytic solutions that support the businesses to understand their customer needs and behaviours, model demand and supply. These are classic questions tackled by Econometrics and Statistics but also some recent developments in Machine Learning to model networks.

You will be responsible for development & delivery of analytic solutions for customer centric business challenges in an agile fashion to enable insights & improvements to the business' data and processes.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

* Accountable for working with business to prepare requirements and technical feasibility for customer insight projects, based on data and hardware requirements
* Accountable for designing & testing customer insight algorithms and methods (with the support of data engineers) and deploying these algorithms within the business' infrastructure
* Accountable for assessing new customer insight technologies and techniques in terms of viability
* Accountable for supporting development of the digital strategy for Customer Centricity

ABOUT YOU:

* Bachelor or Master degree in statistics, econometrics, machine learning or relevant areas
* PHD in relevant domain is strongly preferred
* Proven practical experience with relevant topics and frameworks in sales, retail, marketing or trading
* Practical experience in generating insights into customer behaviours and needs and modelling them to predict or forecast business
* Experience with one of the following analytic tools: R, MatLab, Python, JMP
* Experience in developing analytic solutions in the respective tool of choice
* Ability to clarify actual business needs, translate them into data solutions and back-translating analytic results into business language
* Good understanding on how to tell a story with data
* Experience in co-developing UI/UX is a pre
* Good understanding of mathematics and algorithms is a strongly preferred
