My client is a top Financial consultancy with offices across Europe. After the initial success of their newly formed Data Insight Business Unit in Amsterdam, my client are looking for experienced Data Scientists to join an equivalent team in Brussels. This is a contract role starting on a 3 month rolling basis and will involve cleaning, formatting and deep analysis of a wide variety of data from clients across various industries.
Successful candidates will be team-oriented, and have the ability to determine which of the company's innovative data analysis tools is best to use in order to derive valuable insights from the data sets. You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and experience working with Big Data in a commercial environment. Ideally, candidates will have commercial experience from one (or many) of the following sectors: insurance, finance, E-commerce/FMCG, telecoms or energy. You will also have an entrepreneurial attitude and be interested in helping to build successful Data Science team.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Fluent in Dutch OR French and English (ideally all three)
- Strong and well-developed analytical skills which can be applied to large and complex data sets
- 2-3 years' experience in data manipulation and analysis
- Experience with data analysis for customer engagement and retention purposes
- Post graduate degree in Maths, Computer Science, Engineering or Econometrics
- Knowledge of the following programming tools/languages: SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Python, JAVA/PHP, Query languages
- Strong communication skills and business acumen
- A strong consultative approach to problem-solving
- Experience with data mining, visualisation and pattern recognition
- An affinity for Big Data and experience with any Big Data tools would be ideal
