Data Protection Consultant

Reporting to Group Data Protection Advisor. The successful candidate will provide support on all relevant Colt data protection compliance and product development matters.

- Help create, implement and coordinate Colt's process for submitting notifications to DPAs across Colt footprint countries (monitor processing activities, review and update notifications).
- Define and maintain an internal register of data processing activities.
- Drafting Colt's Intra-Group Agreement for cross border transfers of personal data.
- Review and update data protection policies and procedures and re-launch said policies, where required, to ensure that Colt  is operating in accordance with best practice.
- Provide advice on Colt wide internal data protection projects and programmes.
- Carry out Privacy Impact Assessments prior to implementing new technologies processing personal data from time to time
- Draft of ad hoc advice to business units
- Prepare appropriate training and awareness schedule for different parts of the business
- Keeping up to date with relevant developments, identifying significant trends
- Any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
- Requires experience as a data protection expert
- Pan-European experience with data protection rules, especially in Germany, France and Spain preferred
- International mind-set, understanding of differences in regulatory culture across the EU
- Experience in risk evaluation and pragmatic and commercially-minded approach to compliance
- Command of multiple European languages preferable
- Experience in setting up processes and working together in virtual and remote teams
- Extensive experience of providing clear and concise analysis, wherever possible quantitative, as a decision aid
