DATA PROTECTION ADVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Must have expert level knowledge of EMC Data Protection Advisor
-

Verifies requirements for the Data Protection Advisor implementation within the existing backup, recovery, and replication environments are detailed.
-

Installs and configures the DPA server software, creating a DPA server (instance) for supported backup software products.
-

Configures and enables DPA licensed modules.
-

Configures DPA Users and Roles.
-

Installs, configures, and implements DPA agents on supported backup Servers, host clients, and appliance nodes.
-

Configures collector nodes for each appliance, application, or host type for data monitoring.
-

Configures database maintenance routines.
-

Good knowledge on DR and restoring backups based on requirement.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

-

Working knowledge on NETBACKUP Administration
-

IP Network, WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration (familiarity)
-

Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as using virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, data replication
-

Experience in managing SAN on heterogeneous environment (Unix/Windows)
-

Unix and/or Windows systems administration experience
-

Should be familiar with ITIL processes

DESIRED JOB SKILLS:

- Experience on Enterprise-class Storage from EMC
- Fiber Switches/Directors from Cisco, Brocade, or McData (Zoning/VSAN/ISL setup)
