Data Processing and Applications Developer, the Hague

An exciting opportunity is currently available in THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS for an English-speaking DATA PROCESSING AND APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER to work in data operations team of the Managed Services department of our client. This position is located in the Public Sector.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

- At least 2 years experience in a similar position
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with data process management software development
- Proven experience with Java, JBoss, Jira (for reporting) and Cobol;
- Proven experience in the creation of software development technical documentation
- Previous experience in customising software based on the evolution of the business requirements;
- Experience with Data Flow Platform Processes for process design
- Knowledge of Linux Shell Scripts;
- Knowledge of Patents and Intellectual Property would be a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

- Excellent English (written/oral).

TASKS:

- Adapt existing tools to new requirements
- Provide development support to external parties
- Develop new scripts for data processing when required
- Perform testing with the Technical Manager
- Create update packages
- Create documentation and instructions for update
- Test updates on local installations
- Notify users about updates
- Monitor applications
- Provide support to users

This position is offered as a freelance contract with a duration of approximately 1 year and a start in November 2013.
