Data Object Modeller

As Data Object Modeller within this ICT department be responsible for:- - Systems Engineering subject matter expertise and strategic support for the development of a System; and
- Support the planning and delivery of this System by considering the appropriate Solution Architecture to meet the business needs of the department.

As the Data Modeller work to provide specialist Datamodelling services in support, planning and delivery of ICT architecture.

- Work with application developers to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models;
- Create and manage logical and physical data models using appropriate standards and reference architectures;
- Develop standards and procedures in support of the data model;
- Apply systems engineering life cycle to the development of the data model;
- Validate the business object model against the systems data model to ensure accuracy and completeness;
- Work with application developers, business analysts and solution architects to analyse data related system to system integration issues and propose appropriate solutions;
- Develop reports against the data model and its application across the system.

Collaborate with Enterprise Architect, Business Analysts, Business Stakeholders and Technical staff about all technical aspects of programs and projects, and attend relevant meetings when required especially with consideration of the following:

- perform problem solving and troubleshooting on complex business and technical issues;
- responsible for security considerations in ICT systems design; and liaise with testers about testing strategies and processes.
- Participate in reviews of system specifications, preliminary and detailed designs; test and transition readiness to ensure architectural compliance and adherence to the systems engineering life cycle.
- Support changes to departmental systems strictly in accordance with departmental change control procedures.

Other tasks as directed by the Program Manager.

- Experience in one or more of the following domains:
- Complex Systems of Systems Development
- Database Design, Modelling, Administration
- Application Lifecycle Management: Waterfall, Scrum or Agile development methodologies
- Microsoft Windows Reference Architecture
- Extensive technical skills and experience in Database ICT systems engineering, solution architecture and design.
- Previous responsibility for delivering major components (Database Design, Data Management, Database Warehouse) of large ICT system programs/projects
- Understanding of the ICT system life cycle - Cradle to grave

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS only, preference to existing holders of NV1 CLEARANCE.
