DATA MODELLER

For a project at one of our clients, we are looking for a Data Modeller.

Location: BRUSSELS

Tasks

The candidate will work in the Information Systems team as a technology expert with a focus on XML and Datamodelling, systems integration, database management.

The candidate's main responsibilities are:

- Interact with the "customer", elicit requirements, and elaborate the business model.
- Participate in workshops with the customer, driving for outcomes matching the vision for a solution.
- Provision of expert advice and assistance on technology matters, evaluations, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices in a specific area of Datamodelling, with a special focus on XML technologies, systems integrations, Datamodelling and database management.
- Elaborate software solutions as part of the software architecture group. Construct solutions for designing the Multilanguage dynamic model, maintaining and generating it as a runtime artefact.
- Support solutions with papers and presentation for the customer, (for technical but also non- technical audience) making the case for the choices made. Oral and written communication skills are critical.
- Assistance in the implementation of a software engineering methodology.
- Elaboration of functional and non-functional requirements and business case analysis related to the area of expertise (XML technologies, systems integration, Datamodelling, data validations, workflows related solutions).
- Risk analysis input.
- Review of Information Systems Infrastructure Architectures with focus on database, parallel processing, etc.

Profile

Technical skills

- Excellent communicator - draft papers, presentations with technical complex topics, make a case for a technical solution in front of non- technical audience.
- Excellent UML knowledge, skills and experience, excellent Object Oriented knowledge.
- Excellent knowledge of XML and related technologies and standards.
- Excellent knowledge of system integrations technologies, Service Oriented Architectures, Web Services, Internet applications, distributed systems, applicable standards such as WS_Reliability, WS_Security,etc. and standards in data exchange such as EBXML, etc.
- Ability to elaborate specification and design (and documenting) with respect EESSI dynamic model .
- Experience in Datamodelling, database oriented but most importantly XML oriented, systems integration oriented, and associated technologies
- Capable to design system solutions, in the area of data handling, data business transactions, etc
- Ability to interact with remote acceptance-testing teams, understanding problems and correcting them.
- In depth knowledge of information security systems infrastructure matters.
- Good knowledge of Java technology and development methodologies.
- Proven experience with quality procedures.
- Strong experience in ICT consulting and the realization of ICT studies (aptitude to write clear and structured technical documents).
- Strong experience in the ICT security domain, related mainly to data confidentiality.

Language skills

- Excellent oral and written skills in English and French are essential and knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
