DATA MODELER | ERM, ORM, UML, MDM | BRUSSELS | 6 MONTHS INITIALLY

Square One are currently looking for a Data Modeling Consultant for a 6 month initial project based in central Brussels.

Environment:

The position of Data Modeler is opened in the IT Governance department (regrouping architecture activities) and directly reporting to the internal Data Architect. You'll work in close collaboration with the Data Quality team reporting to the same person. The mission requires numerous contacts with other architects (Business, Solution, Application and Technical) but also with many other departments (outside IT) across the company.

Profile:

- Experimented in designing Data Models (specifically Conceptual/Semantic and Logical).
- Master some of the data modelling notations (ERM, ORM, UML) with hands-on and real-world experience of these standards
- More focussed on accuracy than on exhaustiveness (don't model all the details but what you model must be 100% correct).
- Ease to understand new concepts and not afraid to learn new businesses
- Previous experience with industry off-the-shelf models (CIM) is an asset but not mandatory
- Agnostic about toolset (software) for Data Modeling
- Able to switch easily from a hands-on attitude to a more supportive attitude. Willing to coach and support
- Able to challenge interlocutors and to adapt his/her speech to the maturity level of the other participants. Really good communicator. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members from different horizons (business users, IT project leaders)
- Basic knowledge of Master Data Management. Deeper knowledge of Master Data Management is an asset but surely not mandatory
- Knowledge of Databases Architecture not limited to traditional relational modelling. Open-minded to NoSQL or high normal forms capabilities
- Enthusiastic learner and team-player

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

This project will start in September 2017 to support a first-line of projects till end of February 2018 but other projects could follow afterwards.
We're expecting someone available at least half-time during the first month and switching to Full time at the latest after one month.
English language is mandatory. The consultant will collaborate with French and Dutch speaking team members. Good conduct of one of these languages is expected.
