Data Modeler

This is a 6 month daily rate contract initially with the view to extension based in Dublin.

RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Development and modification of existing and new database designs
Use Erwin to create and update logical and physical data models
Ensures alignment to architecture standards and guiding principles (Applications, Infrastructure, blueprints) through close alignment with the Enterprise architects.
Works (collaborates) effectively across technical domains, with Enterprise Architects and other technical resources
Ensures delivery of end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements
Develop component-based solutions that are flexible, loosely coupled and highly cohesive.
Promotes reuse of existing data models and software

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years as a Data Modeller/Architect (Administrator)
Experience with working with large RDBMS required
Experience with Erwin required.
Knowledge of ETL tools a plus.
Primary or Secondary degree in a related discipline
Experience working with the IIW framework a plus
Experience in insurance or financial services systems development including in the design of component- and/or service-based systems/applications.
Ability to interact with multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to lead technology evaluation efforts, including the definition of the evaluation criteria, identification of technologies to be evaluated, and the actual evaluation
Ability to create and deliver technical presentations to technical and non-technical staff, as appropriate to the target audience.
Ability to engage with project teams in a leadership role, advocating on behalf of architectural principles and standards, and making compromises where appropriate.
Experience of performance testing strategies to validate non-functional requirements.
Experience of data integration patterns (ETL, EII, MDM) and tools (IBM InfoSphere, IBM MDM).
