1. Job Context

They will work closely with the Technical and Construction Director, Development Managers, Managing Directors, Site Operations Managers, Facility Managers/Supervisors and design team regarding the design, construction and progress of the works. Regular liaison with M & E consultants, Architects etc and power authorities to ensure correct design, and implementation of electricity supply.

The role will have a strong focus on contractor management and performance, establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring the efficient and seamless delivery and integration of facilities management services to the facilities.

2. Purpose of Job

To implement, and standardise as far as practically possible (either directly, or via an appointed, outsourced Project Management Company) to the clients highest standards of cost, quality and programme control throughout the design and build phases of multiple, multi-disciplinary, projects for the clients French Campus. This role may also involve visits to other European Locations for client when required.

Advise and lead, in contract negotiations, to determine design and construction programme and costs, while always ensuring that the highest quality of service is procured.

Advise and negotiate with principal suppliers of major plant and equipment for the client to procure these items prior to appointment of the contractors, to ensure the timely placement of orders for long lead items prior to contact negotiations and award to contractors.

Play a leading role in the delivery of the M&E design (with appropriate building & structural works) - via Consultants, Architects & Structural Engineers where applicable - in achieving cost effective and resilient infrastructures on each site/project that they work upon.

Conduct regular project review meetings with M & E consultants etc. and contractors both on and off site.

Develop project management systems, procedures and processes to ensure that external consultants and the internal client team interface in the successful completion of each and every project.

Advise and maintain standards for monitoring design and construction programme, cost control and project information systems to ensure successful project delivery.

Prepare the necessary input to monthly reports relating to projects currently in execution and those in various stages of planning - based on agreed standard formats that provide accurate information to the Regional Project

Manager, Europe, the Technical/Construction Director (Europe) and the Senior Management team to fully demonstrate that they are being managed for a successful outcome (including relevant financial and cash-flow reports).

Ensure compliance with all relevant local permitting and government/local authority regulations.

Ensure, together with local construction and fit-out teams, that all project plans and information is properly communicated and understood by all relevant client staff. This includes costs, design schedules, procurement, construction issues, M&E technical data, construction issues, contractor invoices and payments, funding requirements, change order notifications and any other issues that might materially affect the construction progress of each project.

Ensure timely resolution of issues and deficiencies and develop and implement contingency plans to recover project costs and schedule slippage when appropriate.

Ensure the proper and complete handover (including appropriate training and validated drawings/O&M manuals) of the completed works to the client Operations teams.

Participate in a culture of a team-working and continuous improvement.

Responsible for implementing modern project management and quality assurance techniques.
