Data Architect - Nottingham

A leading and award winning software company are looking for a Data Architect to join them on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to join an orgainsation at the cutting edge of technology offering industry leading training and career progression.

The Purpose of the role will be to design, build, maintain and continuously evolve useful, scalable, secure and cost-efficient data storage architecture.

Reports to: Chief System Architect

Required:

- Advanced administration of enterprise RDBMSs such as Oracle and SQL

Server (including backups, replication, partitioning, troubleshooting, etc.)

- Data modelling and design
- Advanced SQL (including DDL, DML, query tuning, stored procedures)
- Knowledge of or experience with 'big data' problems and NoSQL
- Very good communication and presentation skills
- Programming experience
- University degree in Computing or IT
- Demonstrable experience and passion for designing, delivering and

evolving complex data storage solutions

Desired:

- Microsoft .Net (C#) and Visual Studio
- Cloud platform experience such as Windows Azure or Amazon EC2
- Enterprise Architect (EA)

internationalised systems

- Familiarity with SCRUM and Agile techniques and processes

Key Responsibilities - Ensuring that our software:

- Scales efficiently to volumes higher than anticipated
- Securely isolates customer/user data from other customers/users
- Has a data architecture that will provide efficient and systemic features

such as auditing, reporting, object templates, security, social features, etc.

- Complies or is aligned closely with international data privacy legislations
- Effectively balances cost-efficiency with system performance
- Capitalises new and emerging data technology to keep MHR competitive
- Provides a productive and flexible development environment
