Intro:

A program has started to fulfill the future goals of our client. One of the projects within this program is SOA (Service Oriented Architecture). In parallel a regular business project has started. This will be used as a first pilot for the SOA program. The goals of the project are both delivering a business solution via the implementation of the business project and validating the SOA approach via learning by doing. This includes business, enterprise and solution architecture, technical stack, development tools and method, application, interfaces and integration's, and the way of working.

Within the project there's a close cooperation between HQ IT, HQ IT department (SOA) and local business units.

Profile:

As a Data Architect you will help us to build and deliver the necessary IT solutions. In this role you will be responsible for setting up the international data structure and database topology for our SOA-based application landscape. As a member of an agile solution delivery team you will ensure that data management criteria are well-defined and met in each sprint while guarding data quality, consistency and maintainability. You will work with other architects and developers to enhance data management principles and guidelines and ensure compliance with corporate standards. The role is full time in Breda

Key tasks:

- Drive the data and database architecture for the international program.
- Design (PostgreSQL) databases, schemas and tablespaces.
- Translating entity and object models to database and index design.
- Documenting standards and guidelines for database design.
- Setting up data security policies.
- Automating deployment of database schemas.
- Helping Java developer teams optimising queries.
- Tuning and performance management of databases.
- Developing scripts and support manuals for IT Infrastructure Operations.
- Actively participate in continuously improving the software factory by embedding data architecture patterns in the continuous delivery process, and fitting these in a broader approach (such as data security, privacy protection, BI-reportnig, system migration).
- Share and incorporate lessons learned in improved working assumptions and developer guidelines.
- Build and maintain a library of reusable, thorough data management patterns and automated scripts.
- Document standards and guidelines for using these patterns and automated scripts.

Skills

- At least 5 years as a technical (data) architect for object oriented applications.
- Excellent understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles.
- Experience with Continuous Delivery concepts.
- Experience with automatic deployment is an advantage.
- Experience with Internationalization of data.
- Experience with working in Agile teams.
- Capable of working and thinking at different abstraction levels, balancing the needs of the development team (Java developers, solution architects) with the requirements of IT infrastructure operations.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Maven, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Selenium and Nexus.
- Willing to travel across Europe (occasionally).
- Proficient in Dutch and business English, both in writing and speaking. German is an advantage.
