The Data Analyst is responsible for the conversion of client data from Excel templates and/or proprietary formats into an internal Benefitfocus format used for importing into the Benefitfocus Platform. This individual will use SQL scripts and queries to access the Benefitfocus database while prepping and converting data. Throughout day to day duties, this individual will use problem solving and analytic skills, and should enjoy analysing large sets of data. He or she will be responsible for ensuring data is correctly converted into the appropriate internal format for multiple clients. There is a high level of attention to detail and data quality that must be kept in mind at all times. This individual will display efficiency and be comfortable meeting deadlines during daily tasks. The Data Analyst must have expert skill in Microsoft Excel including but not limited to formulas (COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, etc), filters, and being able to adeptly move data from one format to another while maintaining quality. He or she will be able to meet strict deadlines and be available for on-the-fly requests for updates or changes to their converted files. Clients will provide data in the Benefitfocus requested templates or their own format that can include Excel, csv, txt, proprietary, etc. This data will need to be converted into an internal Benefitfocus format in order to import the data. The Data Analyst will be able to identify data issues that could pose a problem during import. As a result, he or she will work closely with other teams including Implementation, Delivery, and Account Management. The Data Analyst will be adaptable within the Benefitfocus environment, a team player, and have the ability to learn new tasks quickly and easily.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- BA/BS degree required; emphasis in Computer Science and Mathematics.
- Minimum two years' experience working in a database, data analysis or similar role.
- Advanced Excel Skills, specifically ability to use formulas, filters, and move large amounts of data
- Previous experience using SQL scripts and queries.
- Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
- Previous work experience that displays accuracy in a fast paced work environment.
- Ability to work under minimal day to day guidance.
- Experience in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment and/or health insurance industry preferred.
