DATA ANALYST (WATER/HYDRAULICS)

LOCATION: THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE CAN CHOOSE TO BE BASED FROM EITHER STAVERTON (GLOUCESTER), BROMSGROVE (WORCESTERSHIRE) OR COVENTRY (WARWICKSHIRE).

SALARY: £18,000 - £20,000 + UP TO 10% ANNUAL COMPANY PERFORMANCE RELATED BONUS.

THIS IS A 5 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT.

We are currently recruiting for a DATA ANALYST/DG2 TECHNICIAN to collate and validate performance data relating to key company targets for DG2 (low pressure) and ensure compliance with company and OFWAT methodologies and reporting requirements. This also includes reporting progress of schemes and driving delivery of the company targets. Internally at Severn Trent Water, this role is referred to as DG2 TECHNICIAN.

Distribution Asset Management is responsible for the management and care of the above and below ground assets against clear standards to improve asset dependability.

This role would suit a graduate with a degree in Geography, Environmental, Sciences or Water Resources or someone with equivalent experience.

The DATA ANALYST/DG2 TECHNICIAN is responsible for:

- Interpretation of DG2 (low pressure) data against the OFWAT criteria and company methodology to determine whether properties should be added to the DG2 register
- Ensuring GSS (Guaranteed Standards Schemes) payments are validated against the register for audit purposes/regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring compliance with company and OFWAT standards and submit honest and high integrity pressure data into the June Return
- Production of DG2 weekly and monthly reports that feed directly into Directorate, Executive Team and Board Meetings.
- Utilising Company IT systems; Netbase/TeRI_BI/SAP/eScada/GIST Analyser
- Ensuring Regional stock of existing pressure loggers at Critical Points is maintained. Arrange installation of new critical point pressure loggers following zonal changes
- Analysing and evaluating data and monitoring compliance using that data.
- Gathering and tracking information from accountable teams, and reporting on progress and status of schemes.

The DATA ANALYST/DG2 TECHNICIAN will have experience of:

Essential

- Proven experience of working in a team and individually to meet targets
- IT skills - spreadsheets, text documents

Desirable

- Water distribution network operations within an operations or engineering environment
- An understanding of hydraulic principles
- You must either have the required experience or a degree in a relevant subject such as Geography, Environmental, Sciences or Water Resources.
