DATA ANALYST - FIXED TERM CONTRACT 1 YEAR
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- This is a key role to work on a strategic project to improve efficiencies in internal and external financial and actuarial reporting.
- The project will deliver a data repository and reporting solution to the Operations, Finance and Actuarial teams.
- The role holder will work closely with the Change Management team, business subject matter experts, IT and external data providers to define, design and implement the required solution.
- Working with the Business Users to identify, gather and document data, reporting and other requirements, interacting on these requirements with the In-house Development Workstream Working closely with the IT team to design the technical solution(s) to meet the business requirements
- Producing documentation that can be clearly understood by the business users and that can be readily used by In-house development to design and build technical solutions
- Identify gaps in the data and work with the users to remediate gaps and/or define workarounds
- Act as the key point of contact between Business Users and In-house development in communicating requirements and feeding back technical interpretations ensuring clarity of communication between all parties
- Supporting Users in planning and executing user acceptance tests, resolving issues where necessary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED/DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Business and data requirements gathering
- Data analysis & reporting expertise
- Experience working with investment related data is mandatory
- Experience of working with relational databases
- Advanced Excel skills and SQL data querying experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to liaise between business and technical professionals and external data providers
- Experience in data warehousing and/or Business Intelligence and reporting tools eg SSRS
- Familiarity with agile project management methodologies
