Data Abstraction Developer

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Develop the physical database implementation
- Tune the physical database implementation to maximise performance
- Implement database encapsulation including use of an object relational mapping layer
- Work with SOA developers to design data services
- Mentor junior staff in designing for performance and object relational mapping skills
- Participate and support the data migration as part of the switchover to the new system.

To be successful your skills and experience will focus on the following;

- Demonstrated experience in database encapsulation including using object relational mapping tools, and JDBC
- Demonstrated experience in designing and building complex transactional databases operating under an object-oriented business object layer
- Demonstrated experience in tuning complex transactional databases operating under an object based business layer
- Demonstrated experience in data use and transaction management in systems using caching and lazy loading.
