We are looking for CT/MRI Technical Assistant for a 3 months contract role in Atlanta, GA.
11p-7a, M-F

Summary:
The CT/MRI Technical Assistant is responsible for assisting a radiologic technologist during the imaging process. This position cares for patients by transporting them to procedures, answering questions and preparing them for imaging procedures. The CT/MRI Technical Assistant ensures that patients are comfortable and at ease during the imaging process. This position provides assistance to the radiologic technologist with duties like image processing. The CT/MRI Technical Assistant also communicates with other members of the health care team to coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities for MRI Technical Assistant:
Greets and introduces self to patient. Prepares patients for procedures by performing medical assessment of mental and physical evaluation of lab values, confirming patient identification by verbal communication or armband where applicable. Uses 2-patient identifiers.
Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomical area of interest while respecting patients' physical ability and comfort.
Properly tracks procedures via Radiology information systems.
Monitors supplies and restock rooms.
Obtains and documents appropriate history from patient or representative and consults with radiologist when necessary. Reviews procedure versus clinical history and documents information.
Relays correct information to patient and staff with regard to exam preparation.
Maintains patient privacy and treats all patients and other customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
Makes provisions for the physical and psychological needs of patients at all times.
Is able to select surface coils, physiological gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results in preparing the room for the patients
Transports patients and prepares patients for procedure; providing instruction necessary to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
Follows departmental radiation protection protocols.
Applies principles of MR safety to minimize risks to patients, self, and others. Perform all other related duties.

Skills for MRI Technical Assistant:
High School diploma
Relevant medical experience preferred
Current CPR Certification required.
Must possess the ability to follow laboratory procedures and occasionally function autonomously.
Exposure to Clinical Laboratory procedures, personal computer functions, and laboratory information systems is preferred.
Understanding of Clinical Laboratory test accessioning, specimen collection and processing, and result retrieval and reporting principals is preferred.
