Cost Modeller

Background
Capita are recruiting for a cost modeller to join a central government department on a contract basis. This role is based in London. Your main objective will be to plan the finance work, activities and resources of the Project in support of the overall Project plan.

Main duties and responsibilities
. Co-ordinate with Corporate Finance and other steady state business areas as appropriate to ensure the finance and accounting requirements are developed, validated and agreed as fit for purpose in the business as usual space
. Co-ordinate across the broader programme to ensure workstream consistency of project approach and support
. Capture of current performance data and activity based costs;
. Understanding the business environment and relationships with other activities;
. Development of a range of possible cost and performance mechanisms;
. Preparation of draft pricing documents for inclusion in the Authority's competition products including contract documentation, procurement strategy and contract schedules;
. Support during the evaluation of bids and dialogue to determine the operational and economic efficacy of supplier proposals;
. Development of final cost models for engrossment in contract documents.

Skills and Experience Required
. Previous experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Public Sector would be highly desirable
. Previous experience of developing payment and performance mechanisms/contract documentation
. Experience of undertaking complex financial evaluations
. Key Personnel must have the following skills
o Numerical and analytical
o Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
o Excellent communication skills o Well developed stakeholder management skills and awareness
o Ability to present financial information simply and clearly to various audiences
