My client, a large bank, requires a SENIOR COST ANALYST to sit within their wealth cost analytics team. The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with experience in cost management within banking

Main purpose:

The Wealth Cost Analyst is a key role within the Wealth Cost Analytics team. This role is responsible for providing high quality commercial cost management information to enable clear management of the Wealth cost base and headcount. In addition this role will have a key focus of rationalising the current reporting methodology to future proof delivery.

Main responsibilities:

- Drive significant process improvements to drive higher standards of quality, consistency and insight, focusing upon automation to drive first class deliverables
- Understand Wealth in business costs and headcount, driving consistency and best practice, through high quality deep drill analysis into business and functional cost bases to aid decision making
- Oversight of month end process, supporting off shore based colleagues to own month end reporting and delivery
- Analyse and interpret past and projected future financial performance
- Provide support and guidance on functional cost performance, processes and procedures
- Shape the Identification of options for improved financial performance
- Manage the finance analysis and evaluation to support strategic, investment and commercial decisions
- Oversight and drive analysis in support of commercial insights, driving business performance
- Optimise Wealth cost base. Identification of opportunities and threats
- Identify and resolve or escalate control risks and issues
- Deliver efficiencies across the Cost Team, highlighting new working practices where required

Essential:

- Professional accountancy qualification or equivalent relevant experience Accounting qualification (ACA,ACCA, CFA)
- Experience of cost management
- Very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience of reporting systems eg SAP, CAP, FCR
- Knowledge of technical accounting eg capitalisation, performance costs
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
