Cost Accountant Job

COST ACCOUNTANT needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in AUBURN HILLS, MI.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for accurate and timely accounting for activity in the manual AP, manual AR, and Inventory accounts for CAS US and CAS Canada legal entities.
- Build a strong partnership with internal customers in business units, plants, and central function departments.
- Assist with the implementation of process improvement initiatives and enhanced internal control procedures. Additional
- Assist in the month-end close process including related journal entries
- Handle & process freight weekly funding, and create distribution via journal entry
- Responsible for ongoing inventory analysis, review variances and investigate causes
- Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations
- Execute and review month-end system jobs and journal entries
- Monitor the posting of expense reports activity in SAP, and resolve issues
- Perform test of controls for sub ledger activity in accordance with 8th EU Directive
- Prepare analysis and reports related to Inventory receipts & blocked sales invoices
- Assist in development of accounting policies
- Assist as needed with other analysis as well as ad-hoc projects
- Assist in annual audit Must have advanced Excel skills

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
- 3 + years of cost accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail
- Considerable knowledge with basic accounting principles under US GAAP or IFRS
- Good organizational skills
- Strong communication and research skills
- Strong technical skills involving inventory
- Capability to work in a team environment
- Must have advanced Excel and SAP skills
- Willing to take an online SAP and Excel test
- Stable work history

- Proficiency with SAP R/3 FI module
- Manufacturing experience
- CPA a plus Must have advanced Excel skills
