Control Room Operator

Long Term Contract Assignment for a Control Room Operator with a minimum of three (3)years of power plant experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance, or equivalent. including power plant control room and equipment such as boilers, turbines, scrubber and auxiliary equipment to generate steam and electricity. This location is in Up-State New York and will pay per diem for qualified candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Will operate plant equipment and Distributed Control System in a safe and efficient manner and monitor pricing data hour by hour and make adjustments as required
- Responsible to immediate supervisor for ensuring compliance with the Facility's Environmental Compliance Program taking all reasonable precautions to prevent incidents of noncompliance personally or on the part of others.
- Responsible for operation of equipment and perform repairs as needed, maintaining Facility equipment at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and minimizing losses and penalties.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on Facility equipment.
- Must be able to fully qualify as a Power Plant Operator, demonstrating the ability to operate the Facility from all local and remote operating stations, as well as the ability to analyze complex problems under the pressure of emergency conditions.

REQUIREMENTS

- Requires a minimum of a High school education or equivalent and three (3) years experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance, or equivalent.
- Experience with all or any of the following is desired but not required: pulverized coal facility, B proficient knowledge about rotating equipment, knowledge of the maintenance of pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, etc, knowledge in machine coupling alignment.
- Experience with electrical equipment, motors, transformers, high voltage breaker maintenance and testing, etc.
- Desired knowledge and experience with distributed control systems and with programming digital systems and debugging programs
- Must have a valid drivers license.
