Contract Web Infrastructure Engineer

*CONTRACT WEB INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER - £350 P/DAY - RETAIL - WEST LONDON*

My Client is currently looking for an experienced Web Infrastructure Engineer to provide 3rd Line Support for their eCommerce platform systems. Primarily it is based upon a Windows platform, and you must be confident with IIS administration and SQL Server admin also.

This role will give someone a great opportunity to work within a leading retail brand, and the opportunity to support a high transactional website.

ROLE PROFILE:

- Provide day to day support to our customer facing web infrastructure
- Contribute to continuous improvement to hosted infrastructure
- Provide project support for cloud migration
- Work closely with internal users, to understand requirements and ensure solutions meets this
- Liaise with 3rd parties
- Regularly deploy new code to production environment
- Provide out of hours support

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Strong technical experience across Windows Server (2003/2008 R2), DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and related technologies
- SQL 2005/2008
- IIS 7.x
- Understanding of Firewall, web technologies, backups
- Powershell and/or other Scripting language
- Supporting a customer facing website
- Building and troubleshooting Windows Servers

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

- Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure etc)
- Experience of ESX
- Retail experience
