Contract - Application Developer - London - FS - £450 - £550/day - 6 months MS Stack - C# VB ASP

6+ years development and project management experience.

Performs systems/problem analysis associated with Applications Development workload, encompassing on-going production support. Organizes and directs efforts associated with Application Development requests representing medium to large-scale, moderately high-risk tasks or projects. Consistently and effectively directs and communicates project status, schedules and risk assessments. Provides appropriate staff mentoring and guidance to foster a strong team atmosphere with an eye toward customer service. Responds quickly and effectively to client inquiries and requests concerning systems capabilities and devotes immediate attention to resolve complaints associated with production application problems.

Business/Systems Analysis and Design Analyse, define, and design system functionality for complex business requirements. Consult with business partners to determine requirements and design and document appropriate solutions through the application of technology to meet business needs. Ensure standards, conventions and development practices are followed through the use of quality reviews and walkthrough. Production Support and Problem Solving. Independently analyse and resolve medium to large, moderately high-risk [production] problems, and assessing alternatives as appropriate and implementing long-term solutions. Perform unit testing and document results according to System Development Methodology guidelines to ensure modifications/functions meet desired results. Support testing associated with cross-functional project team efforts as dictated by project assignment. Customer Contact Directly accountable for representing systems to business customers. Strong communication/consulting skills required for interviewing and documenting requirements associated with requested systems capabilities.

SKILLS

Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or equivalent work experience. MS certification in related skills area. 6+ years of application development experience as evidenced by thorough knowledge of features and functions of application development languages and Database Management Systems (DBMS). Demonstrated ability to independently analyse complex business needs to determine appropriate solutions; construct/modify code to meet business needs based on program specifications; and effectively analyse and resolve medium to large, moderately high-risk [production] problems related to assigned applications or project work. MS Products, software and development life cycle. Broad knowledge base of technologies outside of area of focus (eg Client Server Technologies, COM, ATL, VB, ADSI, MS Win2K Active Directory, Win2003, SQL 2000, .NET, Data access mechanisms (ADO, RDO, ODBC).
